Form Inspired by the Saddle

The Mokume-gane Saddle Ring draws its silhouette from the form of a horse saddle — an object historically associated with movement, endurance, and the bond between rider and journey. Its broad, curved surface carries both presence and balance, allowing the material itself to become the focus.

Crafted with a sterling silver band and inlaid mokume-gane, the ring reflects a dialogue between structure and organic texture. The saddle-like form grounds the piece with quiet strength, while the layered metalwork introduces movement and depth.

Wood-Grain Metal

At the center lies the defining element of the ring: mokume-gane — “wood-grain metal.”

Created through the repeated stacking, forging, and shaping of contrasting metals, mokume-gane reveals flowing patterns that resemble rippling water, drifting wood grain, or the growth rings of ancient trees. Each line emerges naturally through pressure, heat, and time. No two surfaces can ever be replicated.

The warm golden tones interwoven through the metal create a living texture against the cool restraint of silver, balancing refinement with elemental character.
