About The Artwork
This bronze horse sculpture is based on Leonardo's Horse, a bronze sculpture commissioned to Leonardo da Vinci in 1482 by the Duke of Milan Ludovico il Moro, but was never completed.
Leonardo da Vinci was one of the three masters of the Italian Renaissance. He was not only a learned painter and sculptor, but also a versatile inventor, philosopher, and medical scientist. This bronze horse is what remains of the legacy of Leonardo da Vinci. This horse is based on a horse that da Vinci himself dissected in order to create the sculpture. It was originally intended to be the largest equestrian statue in the world at over 26 feet as a monument to the Duke's father Francesco Sforza.
This decorative bronze horse is a statue or figurine that can be placed in any part of a home.
The image of this bronze horse is accurate, with a typical Renaissance style and perfect expression.
