Hong Guzi's contributions to the art world extend beyond his canvas. He also serves as an Art Consultant for the Yan Zhenqing Academy of Painting and Calligraphy and is a signed painter at the Pauli Gallery in Switzerland. Furthermore, he is an Honorary Professor at the Singapore Academy of Art and a former Secretary General of the Jiangsu Young Artists Association.

His journey as an artist began under the guidance of the renowned artists Liu Haisu and Yaming. Since 1971, Hong Guzi has showcased his work in several exhibitions, including the Nanjing Art Exhibition, Jiangsu Provincial Art Exhibition, and National Art Exhibition. His artistic prowess has been acknowledged through numerous awards, such as the Excellence Award at the Advance China Youth Art Exhibition, the Gold Award at the Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition across the Taiwan Strait, and the Excellence Award at both the 10th International Art Exhibition in the United States and the Canada International Maple Leaf Exhibition. His exceptional talent was further recognized with an Excellence Award at the Exhibition of Representative Japanese and Chinese Ink Painting Artists and the distinguished title of World Bronze Medal Artist.
